For three nights in november, 2014 Pergola theatre in Florence hosted “Ubu and the Truth Commission”, since 1997 directed in SA and all over the world by William Kentridge.  Italian audience was very involved by Jane Taylor’ screenplay, based  on Alfred Janry’s text, and clapped  the original scenography managed by Handy Puppet company.

Speaking to italian press, Kentridge said “there’s no reason to change the show we represented for 17 years. I think every country in its history has a shame who deserve a Truth comission; what about Italy, and Church helping hands to nazist criminal?”. After italian dates, Ubu is expected at Bozar theatre, Bruxelles in december.
