As South Africa enters it’s last days of hosting the World Cup, we can finally thank this Country for his warm welcome to the tourists and the very good organisation. Also the country’s head of state, President Jacob Zuma believes the “Rainbow Nation” has exceeded expectations with its organisation of the tournament. The supporters confirm this: “Perfect organisation, we never waited a minute” says Teia, argentina tuorist. “Yes, only in the opening match we entered very slowly, but in the other several matches I took part everything was fine” adds Abraham, mexican. “I’m very surprised, I didn’t expect a so good organisation. Ticket, bus: no problems” says Maurizio, italian.
Even if the african teams are not in the final (and Gyan missed the penalty making his public crying), this world cup has been one of the proudest moment in Africa’s sporting history. “The successful hosting of the event has reaffirmed that FIFA’s trust in Africa was not misplaced. I also believe that the legacy of this FIFA World Cup will benefit the African continent for decades” said Zuma in an exclusive interview with FIFA.com.

 Mancano ormai pochissimi giorni alla fine dei mondiali e finalmente si può ringraziare il Sudafrica per la sua calorosa ospitalità e perfetta organizzazione. Anche il presidente Jacob Zuma ha dichiarato che la Rainbow Nation ha ben più che superato tutte le aspettative. Confermano i tifosi: “Organizzazione perfetta, non abbiamo mai aspettato neppure un minuto” dice la turista argentina Teia. “Sì, all’opening match è stato lento l’ingresso, ma a tutti le altre partite è filato tutto liscio” ribatte il messicano Abraham. “Sono davvero sorpreso, non mi sarei mai aspettato una perfezione del genere. A Sandton, Johannesburg, l’atmosfera dei mondiali si respira a pieni polmoni. Le strade, i negozi e le auto sono piene di bandiere. Da giovedì sera c’era grande attesa per gli ultimi biglietti che venerdì 28 maggio, sono diventati disponibili sul sito della Fifa e sugli altri canali ufficiali di vendita: 90,000 biglietti per 64 partite, lunghe code di tifose davanti ai centri Fifa e migliaia di persone stamattina alle 9 collegate da tutto il mondo e pronte ad acquistare. Purtroppo le loro aspettative sono state deluse. Il provider della Fifa ha avuto problemi tecnici, persino nei centri Fifa, ritardando di diverse ore l’inizio della vendita. Alla fine però i problemi tecnici si sono risolti e alle 17, quasi 60 mila biglietti erano stati venduti. Per diversi match, compresa la finale, non c’è più disponibilità.

“La scorsa notte ho visitato con Danny Jordan il centro di vendita di Sandton, Johannesburg, e mi sono commosso a vedere dozzine di fan già in coda per prendere gli ultimi biglietti dei mondiali. Oggi voglio sinceramente scusarmi con tutti i tifosi che hanno dovuto scontrarsi con questi problemi tecnici. Siamo intervenuti chiedendo subito al provider di risolvere la situazione e speriamo che nel giro di poche ore tutto si risolva” aveva dichiarato Jérôme Valcke, Segretario della Fifa”

In Sandton, Johannesburg, you can feel the world cup atmosphere everywhere. Shops, streets and cars are full of flags. From thursday evening there was a big expectation for the last tickets that friday, 28 May are become available through all sales channels: 90,000 tickets for all 64 matches, a huge queue of fans in South Africa in front of the Fifa centres and housands of people ready to buy at the laptop. Regrettably, FIFA’s official service provider disappointed all of them: the sales process had technical problems which affected all sales channels, including ticketing centres and FNB branches. It has postponed the beginning of selling for several hours. Despite initial technical problems, at 17 pm, close to 60,000 tickets had been sold, and tickets were no longer available for several matches, including the final. (more…)
